[ yo, week 2 sucks. a very tired xion is on her way "home" from the flower field, zoning out as her body automatically takes her to the house she now has to herself for the remainder of this weekend. she's brought back to reality, though, when she notices someone else just kind of hanging out in a daze. ]
Emma? Are you okay?
[ lea probably told her what happened to the two of them after everything was said and done, so... not like the hand loss needs to be explained... ]
[She looks over at the younger girl when she hears her voice, a look of concern crossing her face at her injuries and the more pressing danger she's in. She's not quite sure what to say to help that, but she can at least start with:]
[ what's that saying—"misery loves company"? xion may still be sorely lacking in general worldly knowledge, but she can definitely understand the sentiment behind that particular adage. ]
Axel told me what happened... it looks like we were both really unlucky, compared to some of the others.
[Still, she can't help but think it's different; she's already spoken to Sol about a prosthetic, but she doesn't know of anything that can replace the function of an eye. Besides, that's not taking into account the larger problem Xion is facing.]
Hey, about this weekend... I bet everything is going to turn out alright.
[ wherever emma happens to be sunday afternoon, a newly reawakened xion comes to find her, a curious force having apparently overtaken her since her fainting spell during "execution." ]
Hey, Emma... I've been wondering something. How friendly are you with Axel?
[ this is what happens when you're an artificial being who's never been taught social norms!!! ]
Well... I trust Naminé, at least. But say, if she hadn't gotten that purification item and we had to execute Swift Wind... then that would have left us with an uneven number of partnerless people. Someone else would've had to die.
I know it's scary, though. [And she's fairly certain something like that will happen in the future, even if she doesn't voice it.] I'm glad you're alright.
[It's a while after the 'execution' concludes that Emma heads to the water area. She wasn't necessarily planning on seeking Xion out this early, preferring to give her space to rest, but - when she sees her already out and about, she approaches, keeping her voice gentle.]
[ well, it's not so much her being "out and about" so much as it is... her just sitting on the shore with her knees tucked under her chin. her shoes are off as she lets the water roll in to wet her toes; she chooses not to look up at emma when she comes over, her eye instead locked on a point far off in the horizon. ]
... I don't know.
[ ... despite the despondent tone she replies in, she still says something, still acknowledges emma's presence. ]
Sol told me that - it takes traits that might not be bad, but magnifies them. There's nothing wrong with being angry or scared sometimes, you know? It happens to everybody.

...How are you holding up?

Axel told me what happened... it looks like we were both really unlucky, compared to some of the others.

no subject
I hope so.
[ she's making an attempt to agree with emma's optimism? it... isn't quite fully there, though. she knows life isn't always nice. ]
no subject
[Truth be told, it's not as though she's very predisposed to optimism, but she wants to at least try.]
no subject
... Thank you. You're really nice for saying that, even if you don't really know me.
no subject
Anybody would say the same thing. We've got you covered.
( WEEK 2 ) sunday
Hey, Emma... I've been wondering something. How friendly are you with Axel?
[ this is what happens when you're an artificial being who's never been taught social norms!!! ]

It's hard to gauge. We've only known each other a few weeks, but... I care about him. He's a good guy. [...] Can I ask why?
no subject
He's one of my best friends, so... if there are other people who think he's important, then I'd like to get to know them better, too.
[ just kidding she's pure as hell ;_; ]
no subject
...He's lucky to have a friend like you. And - by the way, while we're here, I'm glad to see that you're safe.
no subject
... I owe a lot to Naminé and whoever had the partner power this week. They didn't have to save me... but they did.
no subject
If they had the ability to do that, did you think they wouldn't?

[...]
I know it's scary, though. [And she's fairly certain something like that will happen in the future, even if she doesn't voice it.] I'm glad you're alright.
no subject
Yeah, me too. [ she pauses again, then, ] Speaking of Naminé, you're partners with her too, right? What a funny coincidence.
no subject
Yeah. I couldn't have asked for a better partner than her.
no subject
She's great. Even before coming here, she helped me a lot with some hard stuff... I don't think I could ever thank her enough.
no subject
[Everyone Praise Naminé]
I'm glad it got better, whatever it was.
no subject
I hope that Minato and I get to have as good of a relationship as the two of you.
no subject
[She waves a hand.]
Just make sure he doesn't hurt himself. You've got your work cut out for you.
no subject
He does that a lot, doesn't he?
[ TO BE FAIR, IT'S NOT LIKE SHE CAN SAY ANYTHING WHEN HER EYE GOT SKEWERED ]
no subject
[But, anyways:]
That's why it's a good thing he has you to look out for him now.
week three, sunday.
...Hey. How are you feeling?
[It isn't hard to detect the concern.]
no subject
... I don't know.
[ ... despite the despondent tone she replies in, she still says something, still acknowledges emma's presence. ]
no subject
[But, as she comes to settle down next to Xion on the shore:]
None of this was your fault.
no subject
Everyone keeps saying that... but it was still some part of it was me, wasn't it?
no subject
[She frowns.]
Sol told me that - it takes traits that might not be bad, but magnifies them. There's nothing wrong with being angry or scared sometimes, you know? It happens to everybody.
